The Mentimeter alternative with game-show energy

The short versionQuack covers Mentimeter's core formats (polls, word clouds, scales, rankings, Q&A) and adds a fuller game layer: more scored question types, streak bonuses and a podium. Mentimeter's free plan allows 50 participants per month (you can go over once a month); Quack's allows up to 300 players in every single session. Paid is €12 a month, billed monthly; Mentimeter starts at USD 14 a month, billed yearly.

Mentimeter perfected the live poll. Quack keeps the polls, scales and word clouds, and takes the quiz further with more question types, streak bonuses and a podium, free for up to 300 players per session with no monthly participant cap.

One deck in running order: open with a poll, quiz through the middle, take questions at the end. Any format can go anywhere.

Pick Quack if…

  • You want a quiz with real game energy (points, streaks, a podium) in the same deck as your polls.
  • Your room size varies: every session takes up to 300 people on the free plan, with no monthly participant count.
  • You want to pay by the month: €12 per host, cancel any time.

Pick Mentimeter if…

  • You present through the PowerPoint or Teams integrations as part of a fixed corporate workflow.
  • You need an enterprise rollout with SSO and procurement at thousands of seats today; Mentimeter has years of head start there (Quack offers Enterprise too; talk to us).
  • You lean on Mentimeter's big template gallery for ready-made session designs.

A session has three jobs.

Ask something and score it, read the room, take questions from the floor. One Quack deck holds all three, in whatever order the hour needs.

Counted per session, not per month

Mentimeter's free plan includes 50 participants a month, with one chance a month to go over that limit. Quack's free plan counts per session rather than per month: up to 300 players can join every session you run, today and again tomorrow.

Polls and quizzes in the same deck

Word clouds, rating scales, rankings, allocate-points, open text and Q&A with upvotes are all here. Quack's quiz layer then goes further: timed, scored questions in many formats (type the answer, put in order, guess the number), streak bonuses and a podium. Sessions stick better when the room is playing.

Monthly billing, no annual lock-in

Quack Plus is €12 a month with a 14-day trial, cancel anytime, or €120 a year. Mentimeter's paid plans are billed annually. Plus adds your brand colors and logo on every slide, deck co-editing and CSV exports.

Where Quack is still catching up

So you know before you switch. Each of these is how Quack works today.

  • No add-in for PowerPoint, Google Slides, Teams or Zoom yet. You present from Quack in the browser, and on Plus you can import a PowerPoint file to start from.
  • No LMS integration yet (Canvas, Moodle, Google Classroom). On Plus, results export as a spreadsheet.
  • A small set of templates to start from, not a library of millions of community quizzes.
  • Up to 300 players per session on Free and Plus. Bigger rooms need an Enterprise agreement.
  • Q&A questions appear as they are sent; they can't be held for approval first. You can pin or hide live comments.
